This week we could do a trip to Askham Richard with the usual cafe stop at the prison. Then coming back towards Wetherby on a slightly different route to normal on some back roads. Should be around the 30 miles mark – and pretty flat. Hopefully miss the rain.

See you there!

Hello Medium Group. Thinking about a 100 miler flat route widely circling Knaresborough so many options for wimping out if too much for some next Sunday 29th July. 08:00 start from Knaresborough. If enough takers I will come up with a route.

Team Easy – Settle Away Day

This Sunday is a re run of last years Away Day, a circular ride from Settle that heads into the Trough of Bowland on some really quiet lanes for about 35 miles with about 750m. of climbing – which for those who are counting is quite a bit, but don’t let that put you off – its well worth it.

The arrangements are that we will meet in the Whitefriars Car Park in Settle at 10:00am. This is located just past the Square on the left hand side before the railway bridge and next to the petrol station & Co-Op (Postcode:BD24 9JD) and will cost £3.90 for all day. There are toilets located in the car park.

The cafe stop would be at the Old Vicarage, Tosside – and possibly again in Clapham or later in Austwick – see how it goes.

See you there! – Led by Ian

Medium Ride
Hello Medium Group. Not sure who is about on Sunday. Wondering about heading out West up Wharfedale.
Here are a few ideas:
1) Bolton Abbey Via Langbar and back via Fewston. 55 miles hilly.

2) Otley Chevin. 45 miles hilly.

3) Bolton Abbey and back up & down the valley about 60 miles rolling.
Anyone about?

Medium Ride
Hi Medium-istes, For Sunday how about a circuit taking in Aldwark bridge, Tollerton, Huby, Crayke, Byland (brew), Oldstead, Kilburn, Carlton Husthwaite, Thornton Bridge, Bozza and home. I will try not use my “cross face” during the ride. Not sure how far it is but probably about 45-50 miles mostly flat, one or two lumps.

Fast Ride
Out to Tadcaster via usual route – Spofforth, Kirby Overblow, Collingham and over the hill to Thorner and Brimham – back via Thorp Arch, Cattal, Wixley and Ouseburn.

That will get us back in plenty of time to see TdeF on the cobbles!

Team Easy Ride Newcastle 2018

For all those doing the Ride Newcastle 2018 trip – probably best to meet at York train station for say 8:30 ish aiming to catch the 9:00 trains. If we aim to meet at or near Filmore & Union where the Knaresborough train terminates – that would be a start. Weather forecast looks great for the weekend – so it should be fun in the sun!

Anyone not doing the Newcastle trip but who want to ride on Sunday can meet at the car park as usual and decide on a route and a leader on the day.

Cheers

Medium Ride
Hello Medium Group. Following last night discussions what about a ride up to Thorp Perrow Arboretum. This is basically our usual ride of 44 miles to Masham but with an extra 20 miles added on in the middle 64 miles all together. Brew at Thorp Perrow Arboretum at 38 miles.

Alternatively we haven’t done the ride to Thruscross for a while. This is a 50 miler with brew at Fewston Washburn Visitors Centre at 28 miles, however its only brew and biscuits there cos its the last Sunday in the month.

Lets see who turns up and decide in the morning.

Fast Ride
Out to Ilkley and Cow and Calf, don’t forget your sun cream.

OK – I know everyone will want to get back for the football so lets do a shortish flat ride of probably about 30 miles or so.

I thought about going down to Little Ribston, Cattal, Whixley, Ouseburn, Boroughbridge and back home.
See you there

Steady Ride
Sorry not posted a ride but should be there. Prefer to keep it steady. I gather from other posts there is something called ‘footy’ on ? Not sure what this is . Ride can be shortened to suit if anyone knows what time this mysterious event is on.😆 – Led by Richard

Team Easy – Reeth Awayday 10th June

This weekend is our first Awayday of the Year – this time we are paying Reeth a visit.

So the start and finish is in Reeth. Meet at Village Green Car Park, Reeth at 9.30am. There is no charge for parking but there is a donation/honesty box that everyone is encouraged to contribute to. There are public toilets pretty near and the local shop is open for an early morning coffee. It takes about an hour and a bit to get to the start.

If all goes to plan the ride should be about 45 miles through Swaledale and Arkengarthdate with about 1200m of ascent. Stops at Thwaite or Keld, Kirkby Stephen and Tan Hill of course.

For those not doing the awayday – meet at the car park as normal and choose a route and leader on the day

See you there!

Ian

Its the trip to the Sugar Mouse Cafe of the Year in Easingwold this week. Probably about 40 miles and flat.

See you there!

Steady Ride
Steady Group Sunday ride aiming to hit The Sugar Mouse at Easingwold for about 11am so rather than going direct I suggest we go to Ripon via littlethorpe then Copt Hawick Marton le Moor and over the A1 and on to Cundall, Brafferton and Easingwold.Back via Aldwark as per usual.

Medium Ride
Hello Medium Group. For this Sunday’s ride out to Sugar Mouse I suggest out via Roecliffe to Husthwaite 30 miles to Sugar Mouse to arrive around 11am then back via Huby and Tollerton for a change. Total 54 miles with a climb before brew stop.

Fast Ride
Faster group ride Sunday to celebrate #worldbikeday and Club visit to Sugar Mouse cafe – out via Aldwark, Tollerton, Stiilington and up the hill to Yearsley, back via Helperby and Bishop Monkton.
