The ride is free to participate, just turn up on the day. We are hosting the event in aid of Martin House so please bring a donation in lieu of refreshments that will await you at Ripley Village Hall. If getting to Ripley (and back!) represents a challenge for you or members of your family then why not get some sponsors?
Medals will be available for children that complete the ride.
Please support the ride. Knaresborough Cycling Club will support you all the way.

Club TT

July 14 – Club annual TT

Could all ride groups plan their routes around being at Rabbit Hill, Arkendale at around 10 .30 please this will accommodate those who want to join in or alternatively support those having a go. The start time of 11am will give opportunity for a group “warm up” ride prior to the event, there’s a cafe at Rabbit Hill so please plan your coffee stop there.

11am. 5ml “Fun” event. From Rabbit Hill to the Walshford roundabout.
Think “Park Run” – happy rivalry between friends. Set your Personal Best and next year compare your improvement!?

After the 5ml fun riders have all started we’ll get the 10ml event started, down to Walshford turn and back – “the race of truth” rider and machine against the clock.

Probably a little more serious, but again based around “friendly rivalry”? Have we got a Steady or Medium rider who can challenge the fast lads and girls? Who is the fastest club member? Who will be the fastest female? There’s only one way to find out – – – RIDE!

Please Note – No warm up rides on the course after 10.30, No Tri bars, aero helmets, TT bikes just normal road bikes – flat bars fine. Each rider will pay £4 ( this covers the compulsory race insurance).
If you have a rear flashing light please use it. See you there

Just one more thing we will need about 5 volunteers for timings and marshalling.

10-Mile Time Trial

The Club organised its first official event on Sunday 18th September – a 10 mile time-trial on the V212 course, a section of the A168 between Arkendale and Walshford.

25 Club riders took part with all ride groups from the ‘easy’ to the ‘fast’ group represented. The rules specified that only standard road bikes could be used and no aero bars.

TT 2016 riders

The fastest times were a very respectable 25.15 for the men and a 28.21 for the ladies, with sixteen riders recording times below 30 minutes.

The event was marshalled by Club members and refreshment afterwards was taken at the very nice Rabbit Hill cafe next to the official start point on the A168.

A top morning out, to be repeated in the Spring.
