Team Easy – Reeth Awayday 10th June

This weekend is our first Awayday of the Year – this time we are paying Reeth a visit.

So the start and finish is in Reeth. Meet at Village Green Car Park, Reeth at 9.30am. There is no charge for parking but there is a donation/honesty box that everyone is encouraged to contribute to. There are public toilets pretty near and the local shop is open for an early morning coffee. It takes about an hour and a bit to get to the start.

If all goes to plan the ride should be about 45 miles through Swaledale and Arkengarthdate with about 1200m of ascent. Stops at Thwaite or Keld, Kirkby Stephen and Tan Hill of course.

For those not doing the awayday – meet at the car park as normal and choose a route and leader on the day

See you there!

Ian

Its the trip to the Sugar Mouse Cafe of the Year in Easingwold this week. Probably about 40 miles and flat.

See you there!

Steady Ride
Steady Group Sunday ride aiming to hit The Sugar Mouse at Easingwold for about 11am so rather than going direct I suggest we go to Ripon via littlethorpe then Copt Hawick Marton le Moor and over the A1 and on to Cundall, Brafferton and Easingwold.Back via Aldwark as per usual.

Medium Ride
Hello Medium Group. For this Sunday’s ride out to Sugar Mouse I suggest out via Roecliffe to Husthwaite 30 miles to Sugar Mouse to arrive around 11am then back via Huby and Tollerton for a change. Total 54 miles with a climb before brew stop.

Fast Ride
Faster group ride Sunday to celebrate #worldbikeday and Club visit to Sugar Mouse cafe – out via Aldwark, Tollerton, Stiilington and up the hill to Yearsley, back via Helperby and Bishop Monkton.

Easy Ride
Team Easy – 13 May

This Sunday is the Tour de Ford ride – there is a choice of two routes a 30 and 50 mile route. Some of us have signed up for the 30 miles and others have signed for the 50 miles, but wish they had opted for the 30! There are 3 speed options – and as far as I know everyone has opted for the 12mph one.

For those not doing the ride the Tour de Ford, the route and ride leader will be decided on the day.

See you there!

Steady Ride
Bryan and Richard are doing the Tour de Ford on Sunday.

Medium Ride

I think if we set off from Chapel Street at 9:00 we will be in plenty of time for the registration and breifing at 9:30 and ride out at 9:45

This week it’s a trip to Helperby via Aldwark Bridge – café stop at The Oak Tree Inn in Helperby, they do tea and coffee on a morning but not much else so you may want to bring a snack along. Its about 30 miles – I could do with getting back so probably a bit quicker than usual.

Easy Ride
Well I’m hoping the good weather will last until at least Sunday! I was hoping for a bit of an easier ride this week after the last three hilly rides.
I was thinking of a flat ride of about 25 miles or so to Boroughbridge, Newby Hall and Ripon for a café stop at Spa Gardens. Then back through Littlethorpe

Steady Ride
Bryan’s suggestion for Sunday’s Steady Group Ride is Masham (Not Johnny Baghdad’s) via Galphay and back on the main road back into Ripon.

Medium Ride

Fast Ride
100km Faster group ride for Sunday if anyone is out this week? – can stop at a place called ‘everythinggoodgoes’ in Tadcaster if we fancy a brew.

Easy Ride
I think the forecast is for it to warm up a bit for the weekend – so how about having another go at getting to Pateley Bridge
The aim would be to head for Ripley on the Greenway and then off to Birstwith, Darley and off down Yorkes Folly / Two Stoops (make sure the brakes are working) Bewerley and Pateley Bridge. Café stop at The Old Granary A bit of retail therapy for Richard for a pork pie purchase at Weatherheads then back home via Brimham Rocks Road as opposed to the main valley road.
Mileage would be about 35 and again similar to last week – hilly!
See you there!

Café stop in Otley
