Club BBQ and AGM on July 7th

Kick off at 7.30pm

Join us for our 3rd AGM, thirty minutes of looking back over the year followed by proposing and seconding for the year ahead and then on to the celebration of another year of cycling together. The evening will start at 7pm with the AGM on the terrace of Carriages. The BBQ will kick off at 7.30pm. The cost to members is £5.00 and non members £10.00, pay on the night – please have cash!

Easy Ride
About 27 miles and flatish. Will be our old favourite Newby Hall and Ripon, though with a few variations. Thought it best to keep it simple, for those of us cycling the day after the Filey ride! – Led by Andrew
Steady Ride
40 odd miles. I’m suggesting an ascent if the Col de Coxwold for refreshment and then back via Boroughbridge etc.  – Led by Richard

Medium Ride
54 Miles. Hello Medium Group. Hopefully I shall be out and about this Sunday. Wondered about this old favourite. Byland Abbey. Brew at Coxwold. Weather looks very good. Did Bolton Abbey happen last weekend? Could always do that ride if it didn’t.– Led by Alex

59 miles hilly. Bolton Abbey has been suggested for this Sunday’s ride. Out via Ripley, Hampsthwaite, Menwith Hill, Greenhow. Down to Appletreewick and down the valley to Cav Pav for brew. Back via Beamsley, Askwith, Fewston, Beckwithshaw, Calcutt. – Led by Alex

Probably less than 30 miles and flat. Following on the theme of easier rides, Andrew is going to lead a ride out to Arkendale, Whixley (cafe), Hunsingore, Little Ribston and back. – led by Andrew

Coxwold or Easingwold depending on the weather and or/our ambitions. Plenty of hills if we go to coxwold– led by Richard

Easy Ride

Pretty flat and less than 30 miles. After a few weeks of tough rides – I thought it was time to do something a bit easier this week.
How about Boroughbridge, Newby Hall, Ripon (cafe) and back. Forecast at the moment is looking good for Sunday, so no excuse. – led by Ian

Acorn 100K ride this Saturday, Several club members are doing this so the Easy and Steady group rides are decide on Sunday in the carpark!

48 miles hilly. Hello Medium Group. For this Sunday’s ride the plan is Thruscross. Out via Ripley, Hampsthwaite, Menwith Hill, Round the top of Thruscross then blown back down to Blubberhouses. Brew at Fewston. Return via Braythorn, Huby, Dunkeswick, Kirkby Overblow.

Can be shortened if necessary by returning from Fewston via Icy Corner, Beckwithshaw, Green Lane, Hookstone Road. – led by Alex.

About 85km. After last weeks climbing route something a little flatter this weekend. Out to Masham via Snape. – led by Mark.

Team Easy – Tour d’Otley

About 35 miles or so. Following last weeks Tour de Yorkshire I thought we could do our own scaled down version.
I was thinking of leading a ride over the category 3 climb of Col de Rudding Park, then into Kirkby Overblow, Castley and Pool before the intermediate sprint to the feeding station in Otley.
Then its out towards Farnley before the category 1 climb of Leathley Bank (well the alternative version via Braythorn anyway), fast descent into Burn Bridge and back via Hookstone and Forest Moor. Finishing line at the Half Moon where prizes will be awarded for Yellow and Green jersey and King / Queen of the Mountains and not getting lost. – led by Ian

Hello Medium Group. For this Sunday’s ride the plan is to do the tour de ford ride from lookers ford Harrogate 50 miles mystery course at 15mph. Meet at Chapel St at 9:00 and head to Lookers Ford. Ride leaves from there at 9:30.
